An opening date has been set for a popular hamburger diner in Nettleham after its popular premises north of Lincoln closed earlier this month.
As previously reported, Meat Inc. will be moving in at The Black Horse pub in Nettleham after the branch on Caenby Corner closed its doors for the final time on Sunday, July 28. The building is split into two and the diner will move in at the back, which can seat 48 people. The pub will remain open as normal.
Meat Inc. will open under new ownership at 5pm on Friday, August 9. It will create around seven new jobs – a mixture of part-time and full-time.
The restaurant will open Tuesday-Thursday 10am-8pm and Friday-Sunday 9am-8pm. It will be closed on a Monday, although it will be open on Bank Holidays. Alison Barnes and Jacqui Thompson took over The Black Horse pub in January 2019 and now they are looking forward to getting stuck in with their new restaurant venture. Alison, who has been in the pub and restaurant industry for most of her life, told The Lincolnite: “We’re nervously excited, but we are confident we can run a successful business and keep the Meat Inc. reputation going.
“We’ll make some minor changes, but we are keeping most of it the same. We will be using the furniture from the Caenby Corner restaurant. The restaurant at the pub has a history of Nettleham pictures around it and we are keeping that theme in a way and it’s going to be a mix of that and also photos of old film stars.”
Local band Relentless (Rockabilly) will be performing at 9pm on the opening night!
